As an applicant you have two ways to register on aptitudedesk.com. The first one is that your author (professor or employer) to create an applicant account for you, in which case, he has to know your email address, the second one being the applicants creating accounts for themselves, in which case, you, as an applicant have to know your author code (a unique string generated when the author registers). In first case you will receive an e-mail with a confirmation link. You have to click that link, otherwise, your account will remain inactive.
